The petition of ‘severall poore aged and Impotent men’ of Lonsdale Hundred, Lancashire, Midsummer 1663

To the ho[noura]ble and the right woo[rshipfu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace at this pr[e]sent genn[er]all Sessions of the peace houlden at Lanc[aste]r
The humble Petic[i]on of seu[er]all poore, aged, and Impotent men w[i]thin the hundred of Lonisdall who were late souldiers for his late Ma[jes]tie of blessed memory, and who haue pentions by you granted out of the Charge of the Parishes accordinge to the Act of Parliam[en]t in that case made and p[ro]vyded.
Who humbly desyre yo[u]r hono[u]rs &c to keepe them in yo[u]r pious and charitable memories for their allowances granted as aforesaid. That the same may be paid to them when it shall seeme good to yo[u]r hono[u]rs: and they shall pray (as in duty they are bound) for yo[u]r hono[u]rs.
