The humble Peti[ti]an of Raphe Whittle Raph Ainscow, Adam Hodson, Thomas Hodson, John Grymshaw, James Marsh John Higham, Thomas Ranson, and Anne Lowe Inhabitants w[i]thin the Township of Aspull & Hugh Watmough of Blackrode Alice Bradley in the county aforesaid as foll[ows]

Sheweth

That yo[u]r Peti[ti]on[e]rs being Pentioners for their Loyallty to their King and beinge not able to gett a livelihood by reason of Lamenesse and other hurts & damage sustained in the late warr and haveing had severall promises yt their severall stipends should be augmented, yo[u]r peti[ti]on[e]rs humbly implore yo[u]r Wor[shi]ps order for the said Augmentac[i]on w[hi]ch yo[u]r pet[it]ion[e]rs humbly Conceive may be the better p[er]formed in regard seven p[er]sons yt were pentioners are Lately dead out of the said towne.

Yo[u]r Pet[it]ion[e]rs therefore humbly doe begg that they may not onely rec[eive] the said augmentation but also the accustomed pay & that it may bee forthw[i]th payed & yo[u]r Pet[it]ion[e]rs will ever pray &c
