Humblie Meines and showethe that Wheras your pore suplicant haveing continewed frome the first expeditiones in the kingdomes service vntill the goeing of the Earll off Lowthians Old Iristh Regment to the Northe for surpresseing off the Rebellione off the gordones and ye factiones yr In the wh h[onoura]ble Regment off the Earll of Lowthians I being serjant and being yr comanded vpone one pairtie where I did Receave such horable wonds vpone the heid Where with I was keipe in the cherurgians hands for the spaise off one year in expectation off my death daylie where I Bestowed all the meins that ether my self was able to afourd that or that good freinds wold helpe me withe And for all was Left vnabill and powerles off in off my Legs and arme yr vpone I had recourssion to yre howses by Suplicatione and being vnabill off my self and haveing no frend to followe [illegible] furthe it was neglected: yr vpone I for was forced to be takine to the suplie of my pour freinds and as one beger hath continewed till this day till they ar alltogeder weirred off me: yr vpone f I am forced to be sech yo[u]r Lo[rdship]s that for gods [?causse] that yow wold be pleased to [?causse] helpe me with sume off yo[u]r chearittie that as in tyme off my service in yo[u]r Lo[rdship]s service I was knowne to be one trustie servant and now when I ame not abill to helpe my self that it wolds pleis the Lord of heavine to move yo[u]r Lo[rdship]s hearts to caus derect one way yr by I hav may have yo[u]r suport and yo[u]r Lo[rdship]s anser I humblie bege
