To the Hon[oura]ble and Right worshippfull his Ma[jes]t[y]s Justices of the Peace at there Generall Quarter Sessions of the Peace holden at Skipton xio die July 1676
The humble Petic[i]on of Samuell Constantine of Ketlewell, gentl[eman]
Sheweth
That yo[u]r Petic[i]oner obtained an Order at the Generall Quarter Sessions holden at Skipton afforesaid, the third day of July 1675: for his admittance to be a penconer in the place and Stead of George Ibbotson late of Ketlewell afforesaid then latelie deceased, and to haue that Penc[i]on quarterlie w[hi]ch he the said George formerlie had receiued, And that the Treasurer of the Lame souldiers shold insert yo[u]r peticoners name into the Penc[i]on Rolls at the last Generall Quarter Sessions of the Peace holden at Pontefract, in observance to w[hi]ch said Order, yo[u]r Petic[i]oner did goe to Pontefract, and shewed his order to the said Treasurer; whoe told him that he could at pr[e]sent doe nothinge for yo[u]r Petic[i]oner in regard there was an Order to be granted out to the Justices of the Peace w[i]thin theire seuerall Weapontackes, for the Regulatinge and Orderinge of all the Penc[i]on souldjers w[i]thin there seuerall divisions
Yo[u]r Peticoner therefore humblie prayes this Hon[oura]ble Benche will be gratiouslie pleased to take the pr[e]misses into yo[u]r most wise and graue considerac[i]ons, And that he may receaue his said Penc[i]on now, accordinge to the tenor and true intent and meaninge of the said Order:
And yo[u]r Peticoner as in dutie bound shall euer pray &c
