The humble petition of Roger Walmsley of Fishwecke husbandman
Humbly shewet[h]
That y[ou]r petitioner hath beene (ever since ye begining of these vnhappy distractions) in actuall armes For his late ma[jes]tye of ever blessd memory & also For his ma[jes]tye that now is in w[hi]ch s[ai]d service y[ou]r Pet[i]tioner hath receiued several wonds to ye great detrim[en]t of y[ou]r petitioner as also ye lose of on of his eyes insomuch yt y[ou]r petitioner haueing nothing For his subsistance but w[ha]t he can get by his hand labour w[hi]ch is so little his body being brought to yt debility & weaknes occationed by ye affors[ai]d wonds & imprisonm[en]t yt y[ou]r petitioner is likly to starue.
May it therefore please y[ou]r good wor[shi]pps I haueing petitioned ye hono[u]r[a]ble & Right wor[shi]pp[fu]ll ye Justices of ye peace att ye sherife teable & being reffered to this wor[shi]pps thie Court to take ye Premesis into y[ou]r Charitable Consideration & to admit y[ou]r petitioner as on of his ma[jes]tye[s] Pencioners or otherwayes some releefe w[hi]ch way y[ou]r wor[shi]pps shall thinke most Convenient & y[ou]r Petitioner as in duty bound will ever pray &c.
