The petition of Roger Cosson of Blackrod, Lancashire, Midsummer 1653

To the Wor[shi]pfull the Justices of the Peace att the Sessioons [sic.] att Manchester houlden for the hundred of Salford.
The humble Petic[i]on of Roger Cosson of Blackerod.
Sheweth.
That whereas your humble Petic[i]on[e]r hath beene imployed in the service of the Parliam[en]t in [the kingdome of] Scotland vnder the Command of the honnourable the Lord generall Cromwell and beeinge laitly Reduced was desirous to returne home to my wife into the Towne of Blackerod wheere wee weere both borne is att this presant destitute of habitac[i]on
May it theerefore please your good Worships to take the pr[e]mises into your gracious Considerac[i]ons and to grant an Order that your Petic[i]oner may haue a Conveniant habitacion for his money w[i]thin the said Towne of Blackerode, And your Petic[i]on[e]r as in dutye bounde will euer praye for your wor[shi]pps health and happinesse longe to Continue.
