The petition of Robert Walker of Nantwich, Cheshire, Trinity 1654

To the ho[noura]ble the Justices of Peace at this p[re]sent Quarter Sessions assembled.
The humble petic[i]on of Rob[er]te Walker of Namptw[i]ch
<Sheweth>
That yo[u]r petic[i]o[ne]rs brother Richard Walker about fiue yeares agoe wente for the seruice of this Comonwealth into the Kingdome of Scotland and lefte Thomas Walker one of his sonnes destitute of any releife or mayntenance, but as yo[u]r petic[ione]r out of his Charity did take him and vpon his owne coste and charge hath maynteaned him for ye space of six yeares and about a yeare since bound him Prentice and is to continue to find him dureinge his Apprentishipp with dyett Lodginge & apparell
The pr[e]misses duely considered yo[u]r petic[i]o[ne]r humbly prayes yo[u]r wor[shi]ps will please to grante yo[u]r ord[e]r that hee may haue some allowance granted him from ye p[a]rish of Namptw[i]ch towards keepinge of the said Child and yt all the Charge may not wholly lye vpon him: And yo[u]r petic[ione]r will be bound eu[er] to pray &c
