The petition of Robert Steevenson, Cheshire, Trinity 1650
To the Honorable the justices at this presente Sessions assembled.
The humble petic[i]on of Robert Steevenson late souldier vnder the Com[m]aund of Captaine Gimbert
Sheweth
That by an order bearinge date the third daie of Aprill in the yeare of our Lord 1649 your petic[i]oner was ordered to receiue from one of the Treasurers of this countie the yearelie sume of twentie shillings towards the relife of your pore petic[i]oner, But your petic[i]oner cannot haue the said yearelie sume paid vnto him though hee haue the said order to shewe and hath laboured much for the same: And that your petic[i]oner since hee was maimed is not able to labor to gett his livinge as formerlie hee was, by reason whereof hee is in greate wante and necessitie.
Yo[u]r petic[i]oner humblie prayeth That your honors will be pleased out of the bowells of Compassion to graunte to your petic[i]oner such further order, that hee maie receiue as well the arreares of his said yearlie paie, As alsoe his said yearelie paie for the future towards his reliefe and mainteynance in this his distressed estate and Condic[i]on And your petic[i]oner as hee is in dutie bound shall ever pray &c together w[i]th some yearly addic[i]on in regard by his many wounds & lamenes hee is disabled from any labor to get his livinge, And hee will pray &c
