To the Right wor[sh]ipp[fu]ll his Ma[jes]tyes Justices of the peace at ye Quarter Sessions of ye Peace held at Northwich.
The humble Petic[i]on of Robert Richardson
<Humbly Sheweth>
That whereas yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r hath been a Souldyer in the warrs of King Charles ye first of ever blessed memory vnder the Comand of Captaine Cholmondeley and was at seu[er]all engagem[en]ts as well at Edgehill & Branford as also {ma}ny other battles wherat yo[u]r petic[i]on[er] sustained great losse & was exposed to much hardship being both shot & wounded & taken prison[e]r to seu[er]all places where hee remayned for many weeks, And being now of a mean & low estate and that John Hodgkins & is [illegible] lately dead & was penc[i]on[e]r in Broxton Hundred
May it therefore please yo[u]r wor[sh]ipps to take his Condic[i]on into yo[u]r Considerac[i]ons & to Admitt him a Penc[i]on[er] & to receiue [illegible] the Penc[i]on[er]s form[er]ly payable vnto the s[ai]d John Hodgkins & hee as in duty bound will eu[er] pray &c
