The humble pettic[i]on of Robert Ribchester of Myerscough
That yo[u]r pettic[i]on[e]r by ord[e]r of this bench was appointed to receiue as one of his Ma[jes]ties poore maymed and indigent soul[ie]rs the sume of ten shillinge p[er] ann[um] wh[ic]h hee rec[eive]d constantlie for two yeares but since the p[re]sent Collector John Browne of Newton doth refuse to pay yo[u]r pettic[i]o[ne]r any more then five shillings and six pence w[i]thout giveinge yo[u]r pettic[i]on[e]r any reason wherefore his pay should bee abridged, and whereas some scores of the said maymed sould[ie]rs are dead and the contrie payes the continued sume as formerly w[hi]ch yo[u]r pettic[i]on[e]r conceiues ought to bee rather an augmentac[i]on of the surviveinge sould[i]ers and not a decrease
yo[u]r pettic[i]on[e]r humbly prayes that the matter may bee examined and that the country may not paye theire moneyes and the sould[ie]rs bee depriued of theire due And yo[u]r pettic[i]on[e]r will dayly pray &c
