The petition of Robert Parker, Cheshire, Michaelmas 1651

The humble Petic[i]on of Robert Parker

Humbly sheweth

That yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r (in the last expedition into the Iland of Anglesey for suppressinge of some insurrections) was an inlisted soldier vnd[e]r the Command of Collonell Lawtham and att the entry into the sayd Iland yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r receaued a shott into his backe w[hi]ch through want of meanes to apply to the same yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r is growne soe weake that hee is not able to goe from one neighbo[u]rs house to another to craue their charityes and in this Sad and miserable condic[i]on yo[u]r Petic[i]on[er] hath a long tyme remained and is likly still to continew vnles yo[u]r wor[shi]pps ayds bee extended towards him

May it therefore pleas yo[u]r wor[shi]pps to take into yo[u]r Serious consid[er]ac[i]ons yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[e]rs miserable and deplorable condic[i]on and bee pleased to ord[e]r therein for yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]rs releefe what in yo[u]r wisdomes shall seeme most agreeable to iustice and yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r as hee is in duety bound will eu[e]r pray for the p[ro]s[er]ity of yo[u]r wor[shi]pps
