The petition of Robert Owen of Llanvihengell Bachalleth, Carnarvonshire, 1657

To the right Wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the peace for this Countie of Carn[ar]von.
The humble petic[i]on of Rob[er]t Owen of Llanvihengell Bachalleth in the s[ai]d County
Sheweth that he serued the Parliam[en]t in the Irish warrs vnder the Comaund of Captayne Henry Gibbuns in the regiment of Colonell Rob[er]t Tuttell for the space of fower yeeres and vpwards dureing w[hi]ch tyme the regiment did contynually Martch in the field whereby yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r hath not only Lost his health butt was shott in the right shoulder and by reason whereof he receaued a Mayhem and Lost the vse of his Right arme soe that he being form[er]ly a tradesman yt liued by his labour is nowe being soe it disabled in his member nott able to earne his bread. Yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r further sheweth that he the last yeere petic[i]oned yo[u]r hono[u]rs in the like kynde Prayeing to be admitted to haue a pension out of the maymed soldiers mize for his maynetenance w[hi]ch was denied by reason he had not to shewe vnder the offic[er]s hands howe he serued & was discharged of his seruyce the w[hi]ch he obtayned since & nowe hath ready to shewe w[hi]ch he prayeth may be looked vpon and that you will be pleased to graunt your petic[i]on[e]r a pension hereafter out of the s[ai]d mize for his mayntenaunce and yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r will pray &c.
