The petition of Robert Okell of Wharton, Cheshire, Trinity 1677

To all singular p[er]sons whom theise present cann or may concerne butt most especyally to his Maiesties Justices of the Peace and Quor[um] att the next quarter Sessions

<Humbly Sheweth>

That Robert Okell of Warton in the county of Chester; was dureinge all the time of the late Warrs, a true, Faythfull and cordiall seruant and souldier to his Maie Maiestie; First vnder S[i]r Hugh Callueley (w[i]th his brother) Generall Hastings, att Swarson Fight att the takeinge of Lichfield Close, and [?Sallt] Heath Fight and then and afterwards engaged vnder the commaund of Collonell Robert Werden and soe continued vntill the vndertakeinge of S[i]r George Booth where hee alsoe to the vttermost of his power was in Actuall Armes and hath suffered Imprisonment For his Loyallty and sequest[r]ation to his vtter vndoeing in soe much, as hee is now become a Prisoner (For debt) in the Castle of Chester in his aged and declineinge dayes, The pr[e]mises tenderly considered ytt is hereby humbley craued that hee the sayde Robert Okell may bee admitted as a Pentioner; and receiue accordingly a prouision is made For others in that nature For manifestinge the truth hereof wee haue here vnto subscribed our names
