The petition of Robert Millington of Eastham, Cheshire, Epiphany 1674

To the Hon[our]r[a]ble & worship[fu]ll his ma[jes]ties Justices of peace att the Quarter sessions att Chester, the Humble peti[i]c[i]on of Robert Millington of Eastham in the County of Chester
Humbly sheweth,
That where as your pet[i]c[i]on[e]r hath formerly been a souldier in the late unhappy warre und[e]r the L[or]d Viscount Cholmundeley; late deceased, in his ma[jes]ties service wherein hee lost the use of a finger, & got such colds, which bred diseases, & hath been und[e]r surgeants hands 4 or 5 yeares, so that his state is wholly exhausted, & hee not yet cured, beinge brought to extreme want, not able to subsist without some charitable releife afforded
May it therefore please this Hon[ou]r[a]ble Bench & the Deputy Leiu[tenan]ts of this County to admit your poore petic[ione]r to be a pension[e]r
And your petic[i]on[e]r (so releiued) shall (as in duty bound) for ever pray &c
