The humble petition of Robert Edge of Barrow in ye fors[ai]d County sheweth

That yo[u]r petitioner about twenty years sinc was by the Com[missio]n[e]rs For his Ma[jes]tie Imprested a sould[i]er for ye s[ai]d townshipe of Barrow afores[ai]d vnder ye Command of Capt[ain] Phillip Prichard in ye Foot Regem[en]t of Colli[nel] John Marrow & behaued him selfe like a sould[i]er against his Ma[jes]ties Sueris at Ossistry Mountgomery Taruin Etton Crisleton & Walles wher ye s[ai]d Regem[en]t marched & Continewed in ye s[ai]d Regem[en]t during ye s[ai]d Colli[nel]s life time & after Continewed till Chester was deliuerd in ye s[ai]d Regem[en]t being then vnder ye Command of S[i]r Edmund Verney & Robed of all his Essate to ye vallew of thirtie pounds & vpwards haueing then wife & Children & his hous ordred by ye Commite then at Taruin to be puled doune & Carried to Taruin then a garrison for ye p[ar]lem[en]t w[hi]ch tended to ye vter Ruin of yo[u]r poore petition[e]r his wife & Children as the Inhabitence of ye tounship of Barrow affores[ai]d whos nams are subscribed know to bee true and humbly sertify

Yo[u]r poore petition[e]r prays ye premisis Consedred he may by yo[u]r wor[shi]ps order bee admited a pentioner vpon ye County & that he may Receue such an annuall some and pention for Releefe of himselfe his poore wife & Chilldren being past his labour as yo[u]r wisdoms shall thinke Fit and yo[u]r poor peti[ti]on[e]r as in duty bound shall Euer pray:
