The petition of Robert Ball of Dudleston, Shropshire, 26 March 1677

To the Right worshipfull his Ma[jes]tyes Justices of the peace for the County of Denbigh and to every of them
The humble petition of Robert Ball of Didleston in the County of Salop Bricklayer
Humbly sheweth
That yo[u]r petition[e]r was list Serjeant vnder the command of Major Manley in the sayd County to bear Arms for King Charles the first of ever blessed memory for many yeares and that he receiued some wounds during the time he was a Sholdier und[e]r the sayd Major Manley which tended much to the prejudice and decay of his life health and that yo[u]r pet[itione]r serued his sayd Ma[jes]tye in the Rebellion of Ireland before the civill war hapned in England and never receiued any pay for his service there and ever since hath continued a true and faithfull subject to his Ma[jes]tye
The pr[e]mises considered yo[u]r pet[itione]r hopes you will take it in yo[u]r serious considera[i]cons and continue vnto him the pension which formerly by virtue of yo[u]r Clemency he receiued And yo[u]r pet[itione]r as in duty bound shall ever pray &c.
26th March 1677
The pet[itione]r hath served vnd[e]r my Com[m]and as sereant in ye tyme of ye late warr and to ye best of my knowledge hath always continued loyall, and I beleue ye rest of his petition is true.
