The petition of Robert ap Hugh of Llanraeadr, Denbighshire, c. 1662 to 1667

To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the peace of the County of Denbigh

The humble petic[i]on of Robert ap Hugh of ye p[ar]ish of Llanrhaide[]r

Sheweth vnto yo[u]r wor[shi]pps that yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[er] hath beene {a} Souldier in the service of the Late King Charles of blessed memorie vnder the Comaund of Captaine John Salusbury of Llowesog in Denbigh Case Castle dureing the tyme of ye seige & before, & vnder the Comaund of Captaine Charles Chambers at An the Ile of Anglisey & elswhere vpon his late ma[jes]ties service & hath eu[er] since contynued true & loyall to his sacred ma[jes]tie by reason whereof he hath suffred very much & thereby soe impoverished that he not able to mayntaine himselfe wife & many small Children.

Therefore may it please yo[u]r wor[shi]pps to allow yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[er] such allowance of the maymed souldier mize for his releife as to yo[u]r wor[shi]pps shall seeme fitt.

And yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[er] shall eu[er] pray &c.
