The petition of Robert ap Edward of Bryncroes, Carnarvonshire, 16 April 1672

To the worshipfull the Justices of peace sittinge at the the quarter sessions held at Carnarvan the 16th day of Aprill anno domini 1672.
The humble petition of Robert ap Edward of Bryncroes in the County of Carnarvon labourer.
<Sheweth>
That your poore peticoner hath faythfully served his late Majestie kinge Charles the first of ever blessed memory as a foote souldier vnder the Commaund of Collonell William Wynn in his Trayn band for the County of Denbigh & afterwards vnder the Comaund of Lieutenante Lloyd was at the fight at Tilstone heath & at Midlwich in Cheshire & there was taken prisoner & soe remained in hard durance for the space of twentie weekes & was an other time pressed out of this County as a foote souldier vnder the Commaund of Captain Lloyd in Sir John Owens regiment, & hath been at the fight at Talar Hir within this County & hath alwayes continued truely loyal to his said Majestie & to his Majestie that now is Soe that by reason of the sayd services (haveinge suffered greate wounds & severe imprisonments thereby he is become indigent poore & vnable to relieve himselfe.
May it therefore please your worshipps to allowe your peticoner a pention with & ammoungest the maymed souldiers of this County and your peticoner shall ever pray &c.
It is ordered vpon this peticon that the peticoner be admitted to receaue an yearely stipend of twenty shillinges
