The petition of Richard Vesey of Bradninch, Devon, 1682

<Devon S[ession]s>
To the honnor[a]ble his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace now assembled at the generall quarter sessions for this County.
The humble petition of Richard Vesey of Bradninch
Humbley sheweth
That John [illegible] yo[u]r poor petition[e]r did served his Late ma[jes]tie of ever Blessed memory in his expedition against the Scotts and afterwards in the yeare 1644 in the garrison of Bridgewater and in other service in this Country and that now beinge above four score yeares of age the wounds and hardship he has received in the warr have caused a total disability in him to get his Livelyhood.
Wherefore he humbly prayes that you would give him a reward of his Loyalty by granting him such a pention as you have ord[er]ed to others in this condition.
And he shall ever pray &c.
We beleeve this petition.
