To the Right Wor[shi]p[fu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace and Quor[um] at the Gen[er]all Quarter Sessions of the peace houlden and kept at the Castle of Chester.

The Humble pettic[i]on and request of Richard Price of Tiverton

<Humbly> Sheweth vnto yo[u]r good Wors[hi]ps that whereas yo[u]r poore pettic[i]oner was a Souldier in the late Warrs vnder King Charles the First of blessed memory and was a Loyall and true Subject to his vtmost power and service as all the Gent[lemen] about Beeston Castle will Certifie and that the First place of his takeing vp Armes for his late Ma[jes]tie was in Edesburye Hundred And that there is now a vacancy of a penc[i]oner in the said Hundred.

Yo[u]r pettic[i]on[e]r humply [sic.] prayes yo[u]r good wors[hi]ps that hee may be admitted to be a penc[i]oner in the roome and place of Richard Alcocke late of Tiu[er]ton] deceased in the said hundred of Edesbury. And yo[u]r pett[itione]r as in duty bound will eu[er] pray &c
