The petition of Richard Price of Hereford, Herefordshire, 1665 to 1668

To the wor[shi]ppfull Robert Symonds Esq[ui]r[e] Maior of the Citty of Herefford & to others the wor[shi]ppfull his Ma[jes]t[y]s Justices of the peace of the said Citty
The humble petic[i]on of Richard Price of the Citty of Herefford taylor Chardged with a wife & Child:
Humbly Craueinge; in regard your petic[ione]r is a very poore man maimed vpon his Adventures in his late Ma[jes]ties seruice of blessed memory, dec[eased] & not able by reason of his losses for his loyalty to his Soveraigne Lord, & King to mainteine a Child of your petic[ione]rs Randle Price by name here borne & bredd of abouts the Age of Twelue yeares; That your wor[shi]pps wil bee pleased to admitt your petic[ione]r a pr[e]sent graunte of parte of that pious legacy lefte, & bequeathed vnto this Citty by the last will & Testament of Mr Harper late of this Citty dec[eased] for the placeing of Towne borne Children of this Citty Aprentices; yo[u]r petic[ione]rs Child being capeable for a Trade & your petic[ione]r haueinge a M[aste]r prouided to accept him into seruice;
And this Considered your petic[ione]r, & his poore Child shall daily pray for your Wor[shi]pps &c
