The petition of Richard Linfeild, Sussex, January 1652

To the Right honourable Judge Jarman Justice Humfrie and Justice Bowton yo[u]r poore petitioner wisheth health and happines

Whereas yo[u]r poore petitioner Richard Linfeild being a souldier in Scotland and being sicke at Edenburge had a passe to come home into England and coming to London to St Bartholomewes Hospitall I had an ordinance pention from Elie house out of the office for to haue mainetenance allowed me for the diseases & sickenes that I haue & I haue beene in the Parliament seruice these eight yeares and I lie vnder the doctors hands at this present houre soe I would entreate yo[u]r worshipps to take it into yo[u]r Considerac[i]ons and yo[u]r poore petitioner shal be bound to pray for your Worships prosperities and to defend you out of the hands of yo[u]r enemies.
