To the Right worshipfull his Magestys Justices of the Peace att the gen[er]all quarter sessions of the Peace holden at Alnwick for the county of Northumberland

The humble petic[i]on of Richard Lawson of Alnwick in the county of Northumberland gent

Humbly sheweth

That yo[u]r peticoner served his late Ma[jes]tie King Charles the first of ever blessed memory and was a Capt[ain] under his said Ma[jes]tie and was certifised accordingly as an indigent Officer and gott butt small Releife and was vtterly ruined and undone in that vnhappy warr May it there for please this Hon[oura]ble Bench serio[u]sly to Consider the Poverty of your power Petic[i]oner and to grant Him such Releife as in yo[u]r wisdom shall be thought fitt and yo[u]r petic[i]oner as in duety bound

shall ever pray &c.
