The petition of Richard Greene of Willaston, Cheshire, 8 April 1673

To the Right worshipfull his Ma[jes]ti[e]s Justices of the Peace att theire generall Quarter Sessions held in Midlewich the 8th day Aprill 1673 the humble Petic[i]on of Richard Greene of Willaston in the Hundred of Namptw[i]ch
Humble sheweth:
That yo[u]r peti[ti]oner hath beene allwayes A faithfull Souldier vnto his Ma[jes]tie vnder the Comand of the Right HonerAble the L[or]d Cholmondeley, deceased And that yo[u]r peticion[e]r was att the Fight at Midlewich and was Against Ausestrey And Lappenton and many other Fights in his May[es]tie[s] Sarvice And in which Sarvice yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r was in greate danger & receved saverall wounds And that yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r dissires that yo[u]r worships would bee pleased to take him in to yo[u]r worships Considerations & to Admitt him A pention[e]r in the Roome of Will[iam] Wright Lately desesed, And yo[u]r poore Petic[i]on[e]r As in duty ever bound to pray &c
Wee whose names are here vnder subscribed doe Certifie his May[es]tie[s] Justices of the Peace that yo[u]r Petic[i]oner hath beene all wayes A Faithfull Souldier vnto his May[es]tie
