The petition of Richard Greene of Minshull Vernon, Cheshire, Trinity 1671

To the Right wor[shi]p[fu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace at the Quarter Sessions at Namptw[i]ch assembled
The humble petic[i]on of Richard Greene of Minshull Vernon in the County of Chester
<Sheweth>
That yo[u]r pet[itione]r untill the end of the late warres was a souldier for his late Ma[jes]tie of happy memory vnder the command of Captaine Thomas Minshull in the Regiment of S[i]r Edward Fitton dureinge which tyme yo[u]r pet[itione]r was loyall to his said Ma[jes]tie and in the said warres gott a distemper which ever since hath hang’d vpon him and thereby yo[u]r pet[itione]r is nowe disinabled to worke towards the maintenance of his wife and family and hath litle whereof to subsist but what he hath from the charitable hand of Tho[mas] Minshull of Eardswicke Esq[ui]r[e]
In tender considerac[i]on whereof and forasmuch as by the Death of Tho[mas] [?Jongre] a penc[i]on[e]r [several illegible words] yo[u]r pet[itione]r prayes that he may be admitted penc[i]on[e]r
And yo[u]r shall eu[er] pray [sic.]
