The petition of Richard Fisher of Petworth, Sussex, October 1653

To the Honourable Justices assembled in ye Sessions at Petworth The petition of Richard Fisher of Petworth
Humbly Sheweth
That y[ou]r Pet[itione]r hath been grievously wounded in ye service of ye Parliam[en]t and lost one eye and ye vse of one arme, in tender consideration whereof he was formerly allowed 4 li. p[er] ann[u]m, but lately (in his absence and having no friend to plead his cause) his pention was reduced to 40 s. yearely.
Be pleased to consider that he is altogether shiftlesse, and having not ye vse of one arme by reason of his wounds did lately in a fall breake ye other arme also, and his charg of children is encreased vpon him, and therefore he hopes that y[ou]r bowells will be touched with ye sense of his misery, and that you will confirme y[ou]r former order of Sessions for the allowance of a pention of 4 li. yearely. And he shall pray &c.
Richard Fisher
