The petition of Richard Fayrehurst of Acton, Cheshire, 20 July 1652

The humble petic[i]on of Richard Fayrehurst of Aston in the Parish of Runcorne
Sheweth
That your wor[shi]pps Petic[i]oner A poore and Aged man whoe formerly serued for the Towne of Aston in the warres in the Lowe Countrey and for manye yeares hath soiourned in the same towne and neere to it in the sayd Parish. And hauinge wieffe and twoo younge Children not able to helpe themselues and beinge both of them borne in the Parish of Runcorne hauinge taken to lodge in A little place And now Compelled to Avoyde from thire humbly prayeth this hon[oura]ble bench to Allowe vnto them some relieffe and maintaynance by what meanes you in your Judgments may thinke most fittest
May it therefore please this honourable Bench to take into your wise Considerac[i]ons the much waunt of your Petic[i]oner wiefe and twoo small Children theire Condic[i]ons beinge soe much to be Comisserated. And to Allow vnto them some liuelyhood as you may thinke in your wisdomes most fitt. And hee his wieffe and Twoo Children will pray for you all in health Longe to Continue.
