The petition of Richard Evans of Pulford, Cheshire, Easter 1650

To the right wor[shipful] Henry Brooke esq[ui]r[e], Thomas Marbury esq[ui]r[e] and other the Justices of Peace for the County of Chester.

The humble petic[i]on of Richard Evans of Pulford in the County of Chester husbandman

Humbly sheweth

That yo[u]r peticioner was heretofore a soldier vnd[e]r the Comand of one Captayne John Sutton for the service of the Parliam[en]t and yo[u]r peticioner was in the s[ai]d service at the leaguer before Chester receaued a shott in the legg wherby yo[u]r peticioner is disabled to worke for his livinge as by a Certificate vnd[e]r the hands of the said Captayne Sutton & diu[er]se inhabitants w[i]th in the said Township of Pulford & herevnto annexed may app[ea]r.

The premisses therefore Consid[e]red may it therefore please yo[u]r worships to give ord[e]r that yo[u]r peticion[e]r may out of moneys Collected & gathered w[i]thin the said Township of Pulford for maymed soldiers haue some reasonable & fittinge allowance for & towards his present releife & mayntenance & hee will ever pray for yo[u]r wors[hip]s health & happines.
