The petition of Richard Deane of Barthomley, Cheshire, Trinity 1677

To the Right Hon[oura]ble his Ma[jes]t[y]s Justices of peace of the County of Chester att their generall quarter Sessions assembled.
The humble Petic[i]on of Richard Deane of B{arth}omley
Humbly sheweth
That your Petic[i]oner hath beene a souldier {illegible} Warrs vnder the Com[m]and of Major Gen[er]all {illegible} was att seu[er]all Ingagements (to witt) att Edge Hill, {Na}zeby and seu[er]all other places where hee was wounded taken prisoner and exposed to great hardshippe and is now growne aged and not able to subsist without releife
The pr[e]misses considered your Petic[i]oner humbly prayes the order of this Court that hee may bee admitted one of his Ma[jes]t[y]s penc[i]oners within this County the next vacancy that hapines and your Petic[i]oner will eu[er] pray &c
Wee whose Names are subscribed doe hereby certifie that the Contents of this Petic[i]on are true & that wee conceiue the petic[i]oner very fitt and qualifyed to bee admitted a Penc[i]oner
