To the hono[u]raible bench at the sessions houlden at Stafford this day

The humble petition of Richard Bettison inhabitant in the town and p[ar]ish of leke Leeke:

Humblie sheweth vnto this hono[u]raible bench, yt the said Richard Bettison beeing a poore maimed souldier, in the late wars, and not receiuing yt paie w[hi]ch was allowed vnto him now for the space of one half yeare is vtterlie vnable to subsist, but to fall into extreame wants, and miseries, humblie desireth this Honno[u]rable bench yt yt paie and allowance w[hi]c[h] is behind, and vnpaid may be restored and his paie as a maimed Souldier continued & hee will ever humblie pray.
