The petition of Richard Bagnoll of Upton Pyne, Devon, Epiphany 1647

The humble petition of Richard Bagnoll son of Thomas Bagnoll & Mary his wife of the p[ar]ishe of Upton Pyne, all yo[ur] humble petition[er]s
Humbly complaine unto yo[ur] Wor[shi]pps that Richard Bagnoll abovesaid on Easter Tyesday last part at the seidge against the Cittye of Exon under the Comaund of one Capt[ain] Parkham in the Regim[en]t of Collonel Wilding for the Parliam[en]t service, whereas yo[ur] petition[er] receaved a dangerous wound in his thigh whereby his bones were broken to peeces having since taken out of his wounds 24 bones and at present lyeth maymed.
The sergeant [sic.] having £8 for curing of your poor petition[er] And never since the receaving of his wound had any money whereby for the curing of his greefe nor for any other maintenance towards his releife, but only from yo[ur] petition[er]s parents being very porr people having 4 other smale children to maintaine
Wee are to certify yo[ur] Hon[ours] hereby the petti[tion] to be true
