The petition of Richard Aulcol of Bunbury, Cheshire, 12 July 1664

To the Right Worshipfull the Justices of the peace For the quarter Sesions Held at Namptw[ic]h the 12th July 1664
The humble petition of Richard Aulcol of Bunburie in the Cowntie of Chester
Humbly sheweth that wheras yo[u]r poore peti[ti]oner was Imployd in the service of o[u]r Late Soveraigne Lord the king vnder the Com[m]and and [?Con[tr]action] of the Right Hono[u]rable the Lord Brandon and in the Regiment of Collo[nel] Whitloe yo[u]r said peti[t]ioner did in and amongst the severall services he was Imployd in suffer and sustaigne many wounds which haue beene to the Hindrance and detrim[en]t of yo[u]r said pet[it]ion[e]rs Liuelihood and not onelie of him selfe but alsoe of his wife and Foure small Children he being not able to doe any worke of service toward the getting any Maintanance for them to witt Att an Assault in Sisiter in the Countie of Glouster yo[u]r poore peti[ti]oner Receiu[e]d one wound in the Heade: and at a feight Att Barton House was taken prisoner and did then Receiue one wound in the Head and one in the Arme insoemuch yt yo[u]r poore peti[ti]oner is Incapable of any Imploym[en]t:
May it therfore please the Honerable Bench to take the pr[e]mises into Consideration and soe much Implore the Condition of yo[u]r poore peti[ti]oner as to aloue him what yo[u]r Worships thinke meete toward the Mantainanc[e] of him selfe his said wife and fowre Children with out the which yo[u]r poore peti[ti]oner is like to perish and his whole Familie and yo[u]r poore peti[ti]oner will Ever pray for yo[u]
