To the wright [sic.] worshipfull the kinges majesties of Justices of the peace for the County afores[ai]d As Follow[e]th:
The humble petic[i]on of Raph Tankard of Austerson: in the parish of Acton in the Hundred of Naptw[i]ch And County Aforesaid:
Humbley Sheweth:
Where as yo[u]r petic[i]oner haueing bin A Souldier in his Late Majesties Seruice kinge Charles the first in the late Rebellion in England in Captayne Thomas Cholmondeley His Company, vnder the Com[m]and of the Right Hono[u]rable Mountague Earle of Lindsei Lord High Chamberlayne of England one of the Lordes of his Majesties priuy Councell knight of the noble order of the garter Generall of all the guards of his late Majesties royall person And Collonell To his Majesties Standard royall of his lifeGuard, yo[u]r petic[i]oner being faythfull in his Maiestyes Seruice To the Last and being wounded in the fores[ai]d seruice and as yett hath not petic[i]oned for any releiffe from the County as others Haue done, soe that yo[u]r petic[i]oner being both lame and ould And not able to subsist without som releiffe soe that yo[u]r Petic[i]oner humbly prayeth that hee may becom A pen[si]oner As other maymed Souldiers are
The pr[e]misses Considered may itt please yo[u]r worships out of yo[u]r p[ro]uidentiall care and alseeing wisdom to grant to yo[u]r petic[i]oner the pention of Thomas Moore of Hough in the Hundred of Namptw[i]ch being A penc[i]o[ne]r lately deceased and yo[u]r petic[i]oner as in all duty bound shall ever pray &c.
