To the Righ[t] Wor[sh]ipp[fu]ll his Ma[jes]t[y]s Justices of peace at the Quarter Sessions held at Nether Knottesford
The humble petic[i]on of Randle Smith of Church Minshull
<Humbly Sheweth>
That whereas yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r being not onely a poore & impotent p[er]son but alsoe very much disabled haueing had one of his hands Cutt off, who was a faithfull Souldyer in his late Ma[jes]ties warrs of ever blessed memory whereby hee was exposed to very much hardshipp And whereas yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r hath been admitted a penc[i]on[e]r & was ord[e]red by the Courte to receiue [illegible] shillings six pence Quarterly Fiue Shillings a Quarter which hitherto with that penc[i]on & by his owne industrey hath maintained himselfe & familey without being burthensome to any p[er]son but now by reason of his age & impotency is not able to worke nor gett any thing towards his releife
May it therfore please yo[u]r wor[sh]ipps to take his Condic[i]on into yo[u]r Charitable Considerac[i]ons & to grant yo[u]r ord[e]r for the Augmentac[i]on of his pen[s]ion & hee as in duty bounde will eu[er] pray for yo[u]r worshipps &c
