The petition of Randle Briscow of Leftwich, Cheshire, 4 April 1676

To the Right honourable his ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace at the quarter sessions houlden at Northw[i]ch the fourth day of Aprill in the eight and twentyth yeare of the rayne of our soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the grace of god King of England Scotland France and Ireland defendre of the fayth etc
The humble petition of Randle Briscow of Leftwich in the p[ar]ish of Davenham with in the county of Chester webster.
Hemble [sic.] sheweth vnto your honours that your poore petitioner was a soldier vnder Captaine Percifeld vnder the com[m]and of the Lord Byron who was the cheefe generall of the army at that time pr[e]sent, your poore peti[ti]oner being at the taken [sic.] of Boulton and Leaverpoole and at the rayseing of the seige at Yorke where hee was meamed and now by reason of ould age and decay of his sight is not able to follow his calling but is now forced to beg for his mentenance and liuelyhood.
May it therefore please your honours to take it into your consideration and consider the condition of your poore petitioners condition, and to grant that your poore petitioner may bee admitted as a pentioner and as I am bound will ever pray &c
