The petition of Peeter Lloyd of Skeibion, Denbighshire, 4 April 1665

To the Right wor[shi]pp[fu]ll the Justices of Peace at this pr[e]sent q[ua]rter Sessions
The humble petic[i]on of Peeter Lloyd of Skeibion in the sayd Countie laborer aged fieftie yeares or thereabouts.
Humbly Sheweth vnto your wor[shi]pps that your poore petic[i]oner hath for many yeares served as a souldier in king Charles his late Ma[jes]ties service vnder the Com[m]aund of Captaine Thomas Price in the late vnciuill warres at seu[er]all places in England and Wales (vizt) at Gwem, Lappinton, Boulten and Yorke, and att Denbigh vnder the Comaund of W[illia]m Salesbury Esq[uie]r then Governor there, and hath since liued and Continued a true and faythfull subiect earning his liueing to maintayn himselfe his wife and six seaven smale Children by his industry and dayly labor, till of late he fell into pou[er]tie by reason of his disabilitie to trauell and labor for his maintenence.
In tender Considerac[i]on whereof your poore petic[i]oner humbly prayeth that he may be admitted one to receaue a share of the maymed souldiers mize towards his relieffe and he will ever pray for the Continueance of your wor[shi]ps healths w[i]th increase of happines
