To the right hono[ur]a[b]le his maiest[y]s Iustises of the peace this day assembled for the regulating of the affaires of this County humbly greeting
The humble petition of Peeter Bayley of Church=Coppenhall being a very poore man haueing wife and children and little but his hand labour to maintaine them withall which being infeedled [sic.] by reason of a wound which hee had at the scirmitch [sic.] which was at Winford Wineton bridge being then a souldior listed in maior generall Massies company Lord Dalamore being generalliso as is not not vnknowne to any which company was most in danger of all the armie: The times were so troublesom then hee codde not seeke for p[res]ent help for the curing of his wound: So whether for want of p[re]sent help or of greatenes of ye wound wee know not: but it hath of late vlcerated and put yo[u]r petti[ti]o[ne]r to new trouble by reason of yt being in [?wa[n]t] not able to labor as formerly am necessitated to desire yo[u]r sessions to
Grant him a pentio[ne]r amo[n]gst his mai[e]sties souldiors in Pention for the like servis and we w[i]t[h] yo[u]r petitio[ner] will be ever bounden and pray
