The petition of Owen Roberts, Sir Hardress Waller’s Regiment, 18 July 1648

To the Rightt Honerable the Committee of Lords & Com[m]ons for the Armie
The Humble petition of Owen Roberts A sick & Maimed siouldyer in the Sauoy Hospittall.
Sheweth
Your poore petitioner served as Footte sioiuldyer in S[i]r Hardres Wallers Regimentt in Capt[ain] Hodders Companie about two yeares & A halfe from the first reducmentt of itt vnder the Lord Generall that now is.
That your petitioner by reasson of Hard Marches & duty before Exceter Woster & Oxford hath gott such Lamness in his Limbes that he is vtterly disabled from further service & the p[er]formance of his calling for the pr[e]servation of his Liffe
May itt please this Honerable Committee to considerer [sic.] the desolatte condition of your poore petitioner & of your Clemency to such maimed siouldyers in his condition to grant him An Order that the muster roulles may bee searched & his accounts statted for the sayd service of his, faithfully p[er]formmed for the statte, wherby he may haue A warrant for his arreares found due vnto him to comfort him in this his sad disconsolable condition
& as bound he shall pray.

This petecioner Owin Robartes being a Souldier vnder Ceure in the Sauoy Hospitall he is a maimed man hauing lost the vse of his right legg
