The petition of Oliver Carpenter of Horningsham, Wiltshire, Easter 1661

To the worshipfull Justices of ye peace att the Gennerall Quarter Sessions
The humble petic[i]on of Oliver Carpenter of Hornisham
Humbly sheweth vnto yo[u]r Hono[u]rs the Justices of the peace for this County yt your peticioner was a soldier for his Late Ma[jes]tie to ye end of the wars vnder ye Command of Col[one]l Henry Coker & att Lansdowne in ye forlorne hoope received a shot & att Illmister in Sumersittsheere received divers wounds whereby your peticioner is disabled to worke for his Maintenance your Peticioner humbly prays yo[u]r Honno[u]rs to Grant him some relife by way of [?pinticion] & he shall ever bee Bound to pray for this honnorable Bench &c
