The petition of Nichollas Goddart, Sir Hardress Waller’s Regiment, 6 June 1648

To the Honerable the Committee of the Armie setting at Wesminster
The Humble petitioner [sic.] of Nichollas Goddart A wounded siouldyer lying in the Savoy Hospittall
Sheweth
Your poore petitioner went out a foott siouldyer in the Regimentt of S[i]r Hardris Waller vnder Capt[ain] Richard Hoddin for about two yeares & by reasson of wounds hee receiued in the service hee is brought verry weake & not able to goe
Your petitioner for the sayd service having Arreares due vnto him the injoyment of itt would bee of Comfort vnto him in his poore & wounded conditition [sic.]
May itt pleas this Honerable Committee that your poore petitioner may have A warrant granted him for to estatte his accounts wher by hee may bee in a Capacity for the Receiuing of his said Arrears for the true faithfull servicce hee hath done w[i]th the Hazard of his liffe
& hee as bound shall pray &c

This petecioner being vnder Ceur in the Sayd hospitall he is a maymed man & disabled For the Seruis as a Souldier. George Dunn Surgeon

<That ye Comissary Generall of ye Musters or their Deputy doe forthwith certify to this Com[m]ittee how the pet[itione]r stands vpon the seu[er]all Musters of ye Army & doe affix the same to this petic[i]on.>
