To the Right Worsh[i]pp[fu]ll his Ma[jes]ti[e]s Justises of the Peace for the County of Wilts[hire] siting at New Sarum

The Humble petic[i]on of Nicholas Deacon of Westbury in the County aforesayd Tyler

<Humbly> Sheweth that y[ou]r peticionor was A soldier a long tyme for the late King Charles the first of glorious memory And Did serve his s[ai]d ma[jes]tie very faythfully & neuer was on the other side in w[hi]ch serviss y[ou]r peticio[ne]r Rec[ei]ued many wounds & hurts on his body & Especially on his Arme by Reason where of y[ou]r peti[ti]onor is very much disabled to worke at his trade to haeue his maynetenance And Was Also plundred & Robed of his goods By the other p[ar]ty As By A true Certificate to y[ou]r worsh[i]pps directed it Appeereth vnder Diu[e]rs Credable hands

Your Peticionor tharefore Humbly prayeth your y[ou]r Worshipps to take his sad Condic[i]on into y[ou]r sereous Considerac[i]ons & to Alow him somthing out of his Ma[jes]ties Tresurey for mayned [sic.] soldiers by way of pension or other ways to helpe towards the maynetenance of himselfe & his poore wife & Children for w[hi]ch great favor y[ou]r poore peticion[e]r w[i]th his poore wife & Children as thayr bounden duty is shall shall [sic.] euer pray &c
