The Humble Petic[i]on of Nehemiah Burton of the Citty of Exon p[ar]ish of Crediton
<Humbly Sheweth>
That y[ou]r Petioner served his Late Maj[es]tie King Charles the first in the Late vnhappy Civill wars vnder the Comand of Major Gen[e]rall frowd & was therein very much hurted & Bruised by meanes whereof y[ou]r Petic[i]on[e]r is now made Incapable to Labour & worke for himselfe & family as he wishes he were Able to doe
Yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r therefor Prayes y[ou]r Wor[shi]ps to Grant him such yearely Pension for his Releife as y[ou]r Wor[shi]ps shall seeme meet
and y[ou]r Petition[e]r shall ever pray
