To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll the Judge of the Sessions and to the Rest of his ma[jes]ties Justices of the Peace for ye county &c.
The Humble petic[i]on of Michaell Comings of Christowe in ye county [of] devon carpenter
Humbly sheweth That yo[u]r pet[ici]o[ne]r in the tyme of the late vnhappy warres beinge In the Service of his late Ma[jes]tie of blesed [sic.] memory att the takeing of Listerman castle otherwise Lestithiell Castelle in the County of Cornwell Receiued A Shott in his Left Legge which Rent & tore all the vaines In peices whereby yo[u]r poore pet[ici]o[ne]r is Much weakened and disabled to Followe his Calling for the mentainance of him Selfe his wife Being alsoe A lame & a lampst Woman & beinge both hee & his wife Aged & thereby yo[u]r poore pet[ici]o[ne]r is Reduced to much misery and distresse beinge alsoe wounded in his head whereby he is Nowe become very deaffe yo[u]r poore Pet[ici]o[ne]r therefor most humbly prayeth yo[u]r Wor[shi]ppes to take the pr[e]misses into yo[u]r most Serious considerac[i]on and that you would Graciously be pleased to ad to his yearely pention of one pounds for his better livelyhood & Releife
