The humble petic[i]on of Mathew Chubb

Humbly sheweth unto yo[u]rs honours That yo[u]r poore Petic[i]oner serued his late Ma[jes]tie of euer blessed memorie. During all ye Late tymes of Rebellion: which was from the first of Shirborne till ye last att ye Ile of Lunddy: (and doth remaine in his Ma[jes]ties seruice to this pr[e]sent time in which sayd warres he spent all his Estate & goods and since by reason of those wounds he then Reciued in the sayd Warres and Age com[m]ing on he is become Impotent & vnable to get his Liuelyhood: He humbly & eurnestly therefor desires yo[u]r honoures yt you would be pleased to grant him Pencion now in his ould age towards his Maynetainance [several illegible words] and he as euer bound in duty shall alwayes pray for yo[u]r Honours health and Wellfare in this world: & for yo[u]r Eternall felicity in ye World to Come.
