The petition of Mary Prickett, City and County of Gloucester, 1643

To the hono[ura]ble Collonell Massye Gouernor of the Cytty of Gloucester.

The humble Petic[i]on of Mary Prickett of this Cytty widdowe.

humbly sheweth

That your Petitioner beinge A poore woman hauinge one childe, and nowe greate agayne, her husband beinge A souldier vnder Captaine Nelmes, and was slayne at Stowe the ould, whereby yo[u]r poore petic[i]oner is destitute of all comfort and quite disabled to manteine her selfe and her charge.

{S}hee therefore humbly beseecheth your hono[u]r that you will bee pleased to commiserate her distressed estate by giuinge order to Captaine Nelmes to deliuer her 1 li. 2 s. beinge pay due vnto her deceast husbande. And yo[u]r poore Petitioner shall bee bound to pray for yo[u]r hono[u]rs longe life and happines.

To Mr Blany Treasurer

I desire this poore woman may have 20 s.
