The Humble Petic[i]on of Mary Greene of West Haughton
<Humbly>
Sheweth to yo[u]r wor[shi]ps that yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r[s] late husb[and] was slaine in his highnes service in Scotland & left behind him yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r & 2 smale Childs & noe meanes for your their relieffe, now soe it is yt yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]rs Father in lawe in his life tyme was possessed of A smale Cottage in Westhaughton afores[ai]d one halfe whereof George & Thomas Greene yo[u]r Petec[i]on[e]rs brothers in lawe enioy & the other halfe stands Empty & yo[u]r pet[itioner] voyd of housroome & likely to starve
The pr[e]misse[s] Considered yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r humbly craves yo[u]r wor[shi]ps to grant yo[u]r wor[shi]ps ord[e]r whereby ye s[ai]d Geo[rge] & Tho[mas] Greene may bee required to p[er]mitt yo[u]r poore pet[itioner] quietly to enioy the s[ai]d one halfe of ye Cottage beinge accordinge to yo[u]r pet[itioner] her father in lawes mynd & will & yo[u]r pet[itioner] &c.
