The petition of Mary Buckland, residence unknown, 19 December 1648

The humble petic[i]on of Mary Buckland widow & Adm[inistratri]x of Tho[mas] Buckland Mattrosse &c.

Sheweth

That yo[u]r pet[itione]rs husband hath faithfully served ye parl[iamen]t in ye Army of his Ex[cellen]cie the Lord Fairfax as a Mattrosse lately belonging to the Trayne of Artillery & was slayne before Colchester as by Certificate appeareth & hath some arreares due to him;

Yo[u]r pet[itione]r therefore humbly prayeth yo[u]r Hono[u]rs (considering she is left in a sad condic[i]on haueing a childe to maynetayne,) to cause his accompts to be stated & paid.

And shee shall pray &c.

Att ye Com[mi]ttee of Lords & Com[m]ons for the Army 19th Decemb[e]r 1648.

Ordered

That ye Com[missa]ry Gen[era]ll of ye Musters or his Deputy doe forthw[i]th certify this Com[mi]ttee how ye pet[itione]rs husband whoe was slayne in the seruice stands vpon the seu[er]all Musters of ye Army, & doe affix the same to this petic[i]on.
