To the Ho[noura]ble the Justices of peace at the Quarter Sessions at Knutsford the 11th daye of October Anno 1653

The humble petic[i]on of Martha the wiefe of John Finche late of Bollen Fee deceased.

Humbly sheweth vnto yo[u]r honors

That yo[u]r said peti[ti]oners late husband was a Listed souldier vnder the Comaund of Colonell Venables And was slayne in his service at Lee Bridge And wheras yo[u]r said petic[i]on[e]r haueing had formerly allowed her iii li. A yeare forth of the Treasurer for & towards the mayntenance of her Children And is behynd for the last yeare but one [Twenty] Fourtie shillings w[hi]ch is or was in the hands of Maior Buckley when hee was Trea[sure]r And for the last yeare hath not Rec[eived] any at all when Mr Hilton was Treasurer But as hee tould her that hee had left Twenty shillings for her in the hands of Captayne Alcocke w[hi]ch was never as yet payd

Maye it therfor please yo[u]r honors to take the pr[e]misses herof into yo[u]r good & graue Considerac[i]ons And that yo[u]r said petic[i]oner may haue her said Arreares due past And allso her yearly paym[en]t of iii li. A yeare to come And she will ever pray for yo[u]r healthes & happines in the Lorde
