The petition of Margret Davenport of Leek, Staffordshire, January 1653

To the Hono[ura]ble the Justices of the Peace at Stafford.

The humble petic[i]on of Margret Davenport neare Leeke in the Countie of Stafford Widow.

Humbly Sheweth

That yo[u]r Petic[i]oner had a husband and two Sonnes imployed in the service of the late Warre vnder the Command of Colonell John Bowyer wherein (behavinge themselues faithfullie) they all dyed. Since then your Petic[i]on[e]r hath felt the burden and losse, and is exposed to great want and exigency.

Wherefore the pr[e]misses Considered yo[u]r petic[i]oner humblie prayeth this hono[u]rable Bench that they would grant Order to bee issued forth that she may bee relieved by the same pension that is Allowed to other Widowes in the like Condition.

And yo[u]r Petic[i]oner shall pray &c.
