The petition of Margery Anderton of Preston, Lancashire, 2 April 1668

To the right worrshipfull his Ma[jes]ties Justices of ye peace at ye sessions houlden at Preston this seccond day of Apprill in ye yeare of our Lord 1668
The humble petic[i]on of Margery Anderton of Preston aforesaid in ye County of Lancaster widdow
Humbly sheweth
That John Anderton your petic[i]oners Late husband hath beene a souldier and a serieant of Foote in ye [illegible] Regiment of S[i]r Tho[m]as Tildesley in ye service of his late Ma[jes]tie and his Ma[jes]tie yt now is dureinge ye tyme of ye warrs in England wh[ic]h p[r]oved ye great decay and impoverishment of your petic[i]oner and her Children: but now since his Ma[jes]ties retorne into England your petic[i]oners husband amongst others dureing his life had a yearely allowance paid him for his service do{ne} as aforesaid
Humbly desiringe yo[u]r worrs[shi]pps {illegible} will bee pleased ye premisses abouesaid considered to grant her ye allowance her husband had in his life tyme towards her mantenance and yo[u]r petic[i]oner as howeuer in duty bound will ever pray &c.
